Chapter 44 - A Gun!

Chapter 44: A Gun!

Luo Ziling was even more pissed off after seeing the arrival of these goons.

He shot Ouyang Huihui a murderous look as he took up a defensive stance against the gangsters who had surrounded him.

Realizing how badly she had screwed up, Ouyang Huihui followed in Li Dongjun’s footsteps and clambered into her own car, and just like him, she made sure to lock all the doors.

“Sis, where are you…”

The first thing she could think of was to give her big sister, Ouyang Feifei, a call.

As she was begging her sister to come rescue her, the men in black started closing in on Luo Ziling’s position.

Now that backup had arrived, Li Dongjun no longer wore that panicked look on his face. Getting out of his car, he waved his phone in the air while yelling to his underlings, “Beat that son of a b*tch up! Beat him real good! Waste his legs! How dare he challenge me! I guess you’re tired of living, huh?”

Silently, his men inched closer toward Luo Ziling in unison.

Luo Ziling made the first move. He picked a sizable piece of rock and kicked it toward the third man to his left while simultaneously lunging toward the foe closest to him.

The third guy was not expecting Luo Ziling to make the first move, let alone executing a surprise attack using a rock beneath his feet. Of course, that meant that he was unable to dodge the projectile which slammed into his skull. The impact was strong enough to produce a dull thud before the man crumpled limply to the ground.

The other men were momentarily taken aback after seeing their comrade fall so abruptly. By the time they were able to react, Luo Ziling was already in front of another man. His speed outmatched Li Dongjun’s men and a kick was enough to send his opponent flying backward. Using his victim as a launchpad, Luo Ziling sprung toward his next victim.

However, it was obvious that this man had anticipated Luo Ziling’s attack as he used both his arms to shield himself from the oncoming kick.

Still, that wasn’t enough to completely absorb the immense power contained in Luo Ziling’s single kick, as evidenced by how the man was pushed a few feet backward.

Surprised by Luo Ziling’s strength, the other men chose to make use of their numbers and charged together at him.

Li Dongjun had called up a total of eight men—four in each car. Including his bodyguard from before meant that Luo Ziling had a face off with nine, full-grown men.

After the merciless beating, the said bodyguard had lost half his initial strength but he was still a standing threat nonetheless.

Luo Ziling knew the pinch he was currently in, so he had no choice but to go all out against his enemy.

Apart from the guy who had been struck by the rock, the other two had experienced the full brunt of his power and thus, they were sprawled on the ground, groaning in misery. Luo Ziling did not spare even a millisecond as he proceeded to the next foe.

In an instant, yet another two men went down unconscious, both with heavy head injuries.

Luo Ziling’s long legs gave him an advantage whenever kick-boxing was involved. Grandpa Luo Liansheng would always praise how beautifully executed his kicks were and how he was comparable to his father in terms of skill.

Luo Ziling had never met his father so he had no idea how well his father fought. From what he had heard from his grandfather, that wretched father of his must’ve been quite the fighter.

This wasn’t the first time Luo Ziling was engaging in hand-to-hand combat. The North-West, where he grew up, was a harsh, unforgiving place, and especially so for a boy like him.

He had picked up real-life combat experience from fighting off bandits as he accompanied his grandfather to the rural countryside. Because of his extensive knowledge about the human anatomy, he knew which parts to strike to stop the enemy from fighting back.

In today’s fight, Luo Ziling had struck almost exclusively the vital parts of his opponents.

Injuries were inevitable for his victims even though his main intention was to immobilize them.

Luo Ziling was far more agile than his enemies. Without giving them the chance to regain their bearings, he struck them relentlessly, hit after hit.

As he shifted his focus to the man nearest to him, he maintained a stance that could defend or strike off any hits from any direction.

If there were signs of them starting to encircle him, he would smash through their perimeter without mercy.

One after the other, Li Dongjun’s men dropped onto the ground.

Every one of these fallen men had visible injuries all over their bodies; it was apparent that it would take a relatively long time before they could stand up and fight again.

Ouyang Huihui, who was hiding in her car, was initially worried that Luo Ziling would be crippled or worse, beaten to death by Li Dongjun’s men. No matter how well-trained Luo Ziling was, he was still hopelessly outnumbered. What’s more, she knew that these men were no ordinary goons; they were battle-hardened, ex-special forces soldiers.

The situation could not have played out further than what she had imagined.

Luo Ziling was pretty much fighting a one-man war, but despite this, he seemed to be on the winning side, at least for now.

“That jerk. I can’t believe I underestimated him! Just look at him go!” Ouyang Huihui reported her current situation to her grandfather before hanging up. By then, Luo Ziling was already onto his fifth victim, which almost triggered a heart attack for her. “What the hell!? How can a man who blushes when he speaks fight so well?!”

Li Dongjun, who originally thought that Luo Ziling was done for, was staring at the fight, mouth agape.

Just what had Ouyang Huihui messed with? How on earth did he manage to hold his ground against nine of his men? A cold feeling crept up his spine. Should he or should he not? He made a swift decision, deciding to risk it. Opening the glove compartment, he retrieved a pistol and checked for bullets before hopping out of the car.

There were already seven men on the ground by the time Li Dongjun stumbled out of his car.

“Hands in the air or I’ll shoot!” Li Dongjun yelled as he lined up Luo Ziling in his sight.

Without a doubt, after his men were finished, the next to get his ass whooped by Luo Ziling was himself.

He’d had a taste of what it was like to be served a warm can of whoop-ass earlier and he wasn’t prepared to have more stuffed down his throat. If nine bodyguards weren’t enough to bring down Luo Ziling, this weapon definitely would do the trick.

Luo Ziling was stunned. He did not expect his enemy to be armed.

Seeing how Luo Ziling was frozen in his tracks, Li Dongjun started cackling arrogantly. “Well, aren’t you a good fighter? Come on, I wanna see how fast you can move! I wanna see you outrun my little friend here!”

Luo Ziling stared back at Li Dongjun coldly.

Li Dongjun was elated. Two steps he moved forward. “C’mon, where’d the fight go? Ha ha, how dare you lay a finger on me! You should do your research the next time you decide to punch someone. That is if there is a “next time”. Keep your eyes wide open. I want you to see how I’m gonna crush you like the sh*tty little ant you are!”

At the same time, the remaining men as well as the bodyguard from before all rushed toward Luo Ziling from both sides.
