“That all happened three days ago. Are you guys sure that the Heirloom Seal of the Realm is still in our borders?” Lu Xuan asked.
Locking down common folks would have been simple, given how they had to get to land transportation hubs, harbors, or airports to get out of the country.
However, those people were all extraordinary top-notch fighters. They would not have needed modes of transportation, as they could have taken jungle paths and still travel at high speeds, which would have been on par with cars. With the country being such a huge place, locating them would have been nearly impossible.
“We’re sure of that,” Yun Sheng replied. “We have specialized trackers leaving a mark behind on the seal, and we can confirm that it is still within our borders. We can even roughly track the route taken by the robbers by tracking the trail left by the seal itself.”
“We’ve determined that the robbers were possibly thinking of bringing the seal to Southern Min and get out to sea from there.” Yun Sheng then continued, “We need to get to them before they go out to sea, or things will get a lot more tricky than expected.”
Lu Xuan completely realized what was going on when he heard that.
Yun Sheng was thinking of hiring him to help cut off those who robbed the seal, keeping them within the country’s borders.
“Noted. Give me their coordinates,” Lu Xuan said.
“There’s no need for that. I’ve sent people to your area, and we’d like you to meet us at once, Mr. Lu,” Yun Sheng, who was on the other end of the phone, said.
Lu Xuan nodded and sent his parents a text. He also had Zhang Hongyang stay behind to protect his family before packing up and leaving right away.
There was a black car waiting for Lu Xuan and the gate of the gated community.
The car went out into the city and then to the mountains, going all the way to the foot of Wuyi mountain before stopping.
At the same time, a group of people dressed for mobility and combat was seen gathered under the moonlight, somewhere in the jungle of the mountain.
All of them wore different attire and stood at different positions, indicating the forces they belonged to.
Lu Xuan would have been able to tell that many were familiar faces if he were present.
All of them were notable figures within the province.
A group of them were dressed in black, and they looked the most forceful. Those were top-notch fighters from the Special Task Force. The two taking the lead were Yun Sheng and the Square-faced Fatso.
Other than that, there was also the Seven Invincible Sect, who was led by Lin Sheng and Chen Chang—the head of the Chen Clan.
While the sect and the clan were not really on good terms, they dared not cause a ruckus at the moment due to the Special Task Force being present. The members of both parties simply glared and scowled at each other, indicating their displeasure.
Other than that, there were also several monks dressed in kasayas. Those monks were different from the professional monks outside, and one would be able to tell that they were ascetics. All of them exuded an extraordinary bearing.
The leader among them looked to be in his forties. He was dressed in the way unique to warrior monks, looking steely and intimidating with his staff in hand.
The group not far away from the aforementioned was a lot messier in comparison. All of them dressed differently, and every single one of them looked aloof and cunning.
The leader among them was a man who had a goatee on his sharp face. His eyes looked narrow and slanted, making him look rather harsh. Yet, there was this shimmer in his eyes seen from time to time, suggesting that he was anything but ordinary.
“Chief Yun, who exactly are we waiting for here? It seems like a big shot to us, bigger than even our boss,” someone from behind that man with a goatee finally asked after waiting for quite some time.
That man with a goatee looked at Yun Sheng and asked, “Chief Yun, I hope you’ll give me an explanation about all this. My time is precious, after all.”
“Indeed. While we don’t mind waiting, letting the thieves get away would be something else altogether. How would I explain myself to the Chief of your headquarters if that happens?” the leader monk added. There was a clear look of displeasure on his face.
That was because they had been waiting for three full hours.
There were many who were waiting impatiently there. All of them were had the best in their respective fields.
It was usually other people waiting for them, and there was hardly any occasion where they had to wait so long for someone.
While the Chen Clan and the Seven Invincible Sect members did not voice their displeasure out in the open, they showed an expression that seemed to agree with the crowd’s opinion.
Yun Sheng took a look at the crowd and knew that if he did not provide an explanation for what was happening, those people would probably cause a scene in the very next moment.
But then again, none of them would have dared to rebel against the Special Task Force, as the Special Task Force had a lot more people than just those present. If any of them were to dare to rebel, it would have meant that they did not mind being hunted down by the Special Task Force at all.
Still, all who were present were some of the best throughout the province, especially those present for the operation at the moment. Even the weakest of them were HuaJin Masters.
The Special Task Force still had to rely on those people more or less when they went about doing their tasks.
“We’re waiting for our consultant of the Fu City Special Task Force—Mr. Lu,” Yun Sheng said right away.
Many among the crowd were puzzled, wondering who this Mr. Lu of the Fu City Special Task Force was.
“Ah, we’re waiting for Mr. Lu, then!” Lin Sheng sported an enlightened look on his face.
“If it is indeed that great figure, we don’t mind waiting for another three hours.”
A lot of them were even more puzzled as to why Lin Sheng actually acted so impressed while the crowd remained wondering what was happening.
The ones from the Chen Clan all nodded as well, recalling the terror they had experienced when Lu Xuan dominated them.
“If it is indeed him, we of the Chen Clan will be willing to wait,” Chen Chang said, and everyone in the clan nodded in agreement.
The man with a goatee and those monks seemed to be the only ones who were still puzzled as to what was happening.
They wondered if there had been yet another very powerful figure emerge in the province in that short period of time, someone who they had no idea about.
Nonetheless, that man seemed to be someone very powerful.
“Hmph, I guess I’ll just wait for a little while longer. If that guy proves to be anything less than satisfactory, I’ll let him know why flowers are red!” the man with a goatee said coldly.
“The scene sure is rowdy. Are you all waiting for me?” A brimming, jovial voice was heard soon after. However, despite everybody’s expectations, a young man, who looked like he was in his late teen, showed up, walking with great strides instead.
Everyone was able to see him clearly, even in the nigh. The man looked like an unassuming, homely boy who was wearing a t-shirt and a pair of jeans.
Everyone was shocked immediately when they saw him. That was because they had not realized until the young man opened his mouth, that he was even close to them.
“Mr. Lu!” Yun Sheng went up right away and greeted him. The rest of the crowd remained steeped in shock.
“Yeah.” Lu Xuan nodded and walked right into the crowd.
“Mr. Lu!”
“Mr. Lu!”
“It’s been a while, Mr. Lu!”
Formidable fighters from both the Chen Clan and the Seven Invincible Sect went up and greeted him.
