Cole has found himself a snug position from which he could fire from, of course the said snug position was actually an alcove where he had stacked quite a few corpses, of course he had to be careful with it as he came across quite a few random patrols of Nijat aliens. But as it stood these were just stragglers with nothing to do as they were all focused on the portal and feeding people through it to the massive tentacles.
He was in luck though as then feeding was quite slow, only happening once every 20 minutes. Either way as it stands now his targets would be next in line, so it was just about time for him to save them. He turned his head to look at the humans who were busy fighting a small team of Nijat aliens, well they weren’t all humans but at the moment cole didn’t care much for them. They had not even gotten close enough to spring the trap that Cole was wholly sure that attached for that bloody silver briefcase.
Nevertheless he shifted his attention back to the portal, took a deep breath and let loose a shot a wild crack exploded out, one of the twelve crystals dulled immediately, causing a small shockwave as Sparks seemed to dance over the face of portal, and the creature within let out a loud roar. The rest of the aliens turned around, trying and failing to find the location which the gun shot had come from.
*BANG! BANG! BANG! BANG! BANG!*
Because of how powerful they were, it was rare to see a sniper rifle that fire more than one or two bullets at a time. But the sniper rifle in Cole’s hands was made for such an eventuality. After the first six crystals went dark, the portal shuddered and shrunk by more than half it’s size cutting of two massive tentacles that fell down and unceremoniously crushed the ranks of Nijat aliens that were standing on the ground and were currently going in and coming out of it. Cole raised an eyebrow at the destruction, it made him wonder how those crystals got up there in the first place, as no one had seen them during…. Oh! The massive hologram welcoming them to the event must have hid it somehow. Well no matter, Cole popped out the cartridge for the spent ammunition and popped another in, sliding it into the side of the gun as he placed his eyes in the sights again.
*BANG! BANG! BANG! BANG!*
He was only able to get off four shots when a cacophony of chittering was heard above him. He looked up, noticing immediately that the Nijat aliens had discovered where he had been hiding, there was at least a hundred of them hovering moved him with guns, floating disks, hover bikes and even hover trucks. He turned quickly to see that the team of five, now missing three of their members were now running away, the silver briefcase held tightly in their hands. Cole smiled as he activated his Invisibility and fired off a shot.
*Bang!*
The person carrying the briefcase exploded in a shower of blood, a massive hole appearing in their chest as the Briefcase fell out of her hand and she fell over the bleachers her body leaving a bloody smear before she evaporated for respawn. Her partner was shocked at the turn of events, but Cole held no remorse. He was going to kill them anyways, but they had sprung the trap and doing so had brought all of these aliens to his location. Now he had to figure out a way to escape this blockade and save the scientist.
[Spectral Charge]
A full purple and blue hue hung around his body as he seemingly teleported forwards, smashing into or rather through the body of one of the Nijat aliens. It was a weird feeling as Cole felt his spectral self rip through organs, before coming out the other side. He deactivated his invisibility as he pulled out his hand gun and ran in the direction of massive hover disk that carried at least half a dozen Nijat aliens on it. He let them see him coming, but only for a moment before he reactivated his [Invisibility].
Shots were fired all over the place, with quite a few of them going wild. And Cole still hidden in his Invisibility took aim with Sniper Rifle and fired, shocking everybody there, aliens, NPCs, and players alike when he blasted the second to the last Crystal, leaving only one of it still active. Red lightning danced across the surface of the program as all of the Nijat aliens around began to screech, screaming and shooting at the area where they felt that Cole was based on the sounds from the shots. But by then he was long gone as he ran last the final player trying his best to retrieve the briefcase and escape the disaster that was waiting to happen.
As Cole got to the player’s location he noticed the player had chosen to play the generic elf race, and while he wasn’t clad in fantasy gear, he wasn’t to far from it as his bow was as futuristic as it gets. Still invisible Cole grabbed the hand of the player and pulled him closer, sending a knee to his midsection as his handgun found its way to his hands and right under the jaw of the elf player. Cole squeezed the trigger, fading back into Invisibility almost immediately as his form blurred forwards, utilizing his new [Spectral Charge] skill as a way to move forwards faster.
Hundreds of bullets and energy based ammunition fell on the area where he had just killed the player, as he deposited his sniper rifle into his inventory along with the briefcase, leaving only his hand gun, blade and grenades in hand, one of which he grabbed and pulled the pin out off, making sure to hold on to it for the first 1.7 seconds before throwing it up to the area mostly cluttered with the flying Nijat aliens.
*BOOM!*
And in that moment where bodies dropped from the sky like flies, he slotted in another ammunition cartridge into his sniper rifle and came out of Invisibility, this time letting himself be seen in all his glory as he taunted every last one of the Nijat aliens around.
“You guys should never have killed me in the first place, eat lead freaks!”
*BANG!*
*Screeeeeeeeeechhhhhhh!*
