Men have always been bred and born for war. Conflict has always been something we were really good at and right now, Cole seemed to have fallen into a zone spurred and controlled by nothing other than an appetite for pure and absolute violence.
Cole swung his spear to the left, trailing behind it green energy that Gabe it even more powerful than normal. Cole was like a tree, his roots planted solidly even within the void, as he withstood the onslaught of Voidlings. For a moment Azrael even had to stop fighting just to watch, to understand and to know.
Cole welcomed the numbers, if it were him he would have already found a way to get out of here. Cole was an Iron Man with an Iron heart. Resilient and built in such a way that could make him just keep going for ages. Cole is a one man army, a slayer of armies while Azrael was a slayer of men. But even with everything he had in his arsenal, he had not been able to bring Cole down, and now he understands why.
He didn’t know if he was the same, he’d like to thing that his propensity for growth was crazy. After all he had almost on multiple occasions almost Put Cole out of his misery. But for Cole, the term what doesn’t kill you only makes you stronger could not be more true.
He was growing, with each swing and Stan of that spear, his movements became more and more sure of itself. At some point Cole had even stopped using Techniques. He was fast and since his was in constant perpetual motion, even when it seemed as if he was standing still, Cole was still moving. .
All Azrael has known his entire life was assassination, and through it all he has never known defeat. Perhaps somewhere along the line he had gotten a little cocky, unafraid and so sure of himself and his power. But Cole was reality check on an epic scale, because for one of the two of them….only one person entered this dungeon powerful of the title Paragon. But through their battles, over and over again, every time Cole had been brought to the precipice, he somehow finds a way to survive.
And he doesn’t just survives, he grows, he evolves. His technique, mindset and the way he utilizes his stat and skill changes every seconds according to his opponent. And facing off against Azrael, Cole had grown. He had mastered his stats and techniques, maybe not to a high extent, but enough that he could face off, 1 against a hundred Voidlings whereas Azrael himself was trying to deal with 7.
They were like two sides of the same coin, it didn’t make him any weaker than Cole. On the contrary, Azrael’ would never look down on himself or put someone above him again. But lethal and precise was what he aimed for, but Cole… . Destructive, Precise and Expansive. His range, techniques and abilities were phenomenal.
Cole flipped the spear, smacking the flat side of the top on the head of a Voidling and caving it down to the middle. The creature turned to dust before even reaching the ground as Cole stabbed the butt of the spear backwards and upwards, catching a Voidling that has attempted to ambush from behind in the gut, just in time for a shadow scythe to Slash it in half from above.
Under the watchful eye of Razor, Cole danced his way through the void. At some point half way through the fight, his legs began to speak with the same black and white lightning. Cole got faster, his body leaving an illusory trail as he moved from Voidling to Voidling now, this time take the fight to them as Methuselah was exchanged for Cole’s favorite weapon; Black Malakai.
[Black Cut]
Made its debut as over a dozen Voidlings were slashed in half. Cole twirled BlackMalakai as he spun and smashed again. This time infusing the concept of the cosmic stat into the weapon, as stars came alive on the surface of Malakai’s black blade as Cole smashed from left to right, cutting right through the Horizon.
A silvery Black Light exploded from BlackMalakai as a thin line that stretched as far as the eyes could see, was blasted forwards. It seemed to move slow, but at the same time this was a cut, an attack that carried the full power of the star with it, well not the full power but enough that even the void had to give recognition to what Cole just did.
The cut picked up speed, draining energy from Cole until he was left with only a pittance, roughly around 5%. The cut just did not seem to want to end as it just kept on going, cutting through scores and scores of voidlings, shocking not just Razor and Azrael with the technique, but also himself.

Cole cut off the string of notifications waiting for him after that. He was still in the middle of a fight. He watched as the blackish silver line that divided the horizon into two equal halves vanished, and the void was awash with darkness again as a deep pulsing beat was heard across of it.
*Dum-dum! Ba-bump! Dum-dum! Ba-bump!*
“What the fuck is that?” Razor called out, as our of the void storm, a face, much larger than even the train they were on peered down at them. It was like a Voidling had grown a bit more humanoid, but was not the size of the statue of Liberty by at least three times more. This thing was huge and it was powerful, so powerful that for a second Cole won’t breath.
“Don’t be afraid, that’s a Void Nestling. The creature responsible for housing and birthing all Voidlings you just killed. It has no combat abilities and the energy you feel from it, is mainly catered to creating and maintaining more Voidlings. It probably wanted to see what is going on, especially with the rest of its Voidlings dying. It won’t do anything to us.”
*Boom!*
The driver had barely finished talking when the Void Nestling smashed through a coach, not dislodging it but crumpling it like soda can, killing everyone within brutally ad Cole turned to drive and said to him.
“You were saying?” the driver’s eyelids twitched in annoyance as he looked at his rubies coach.
“You guys should just kill the damn thing, of it 8f you can’t stall for me. I’m almost done.” Cole nodded as he turned to face the Void Nestling, the enemy in front of him so colossal as Azrael came to stand besides him. Cole chuckled as he said.
“Let’s kill this bitch first, and after let’s go back to trying to kill each other.” Azrael for the first time in forever if not ever have a genuine smile as he said.
“Sure why not.”
