Chapter 624 624. CANYON

Chapter 624 624. CANYON

Erolia awoke to find herself in Noah’s arms. She grunted, instinctively flexing her fingers and toes, then she gasped softly.

An intense wave of fatigue rushed into her senses and she could only lay back in his sturdy arms. Ironic.

“Good, you’re awake,” Noah’s voice reached her ears and she parted her eyelids again to look at him for a second before shutting them. They were in the sky, and the sun’s brightness hurt her.

“How long was I out?” She asked, even if her intuition told her it hadn’t been too long.

“Just a few minutes. We are sorta on the move now.”

Erolia sighed in relief and the duo remained silent for a while.

“What was that skill?” Asked Noah. He could open up her skills using the system but preferred to ask her instead.

“Ascen-” She fell asleep from exhaustion, and Noah could only giggle softly. She looked adorable.

Erolia’s figure in his arms transformed into a mass of light that entered his chest and he could utilize his arms now.

He sighed.

“She caused us trouble only to fall asleep,” Elder Velsvon’s voice resounded beside him. The man chuckled and Noah smiled a bit even if his daggers appeared in his hands.

Lady Edna and Yuno floated until they stood on both of his sides.

“What are we gonna do now,” Noah asked scratching his head with the base of his right dagger. He knew many-many things by reason of inheriting Ersha’s memory.

He could almost bet that the only person who knew as much as him on the topic of the universe was Cregar herself. But outside of those specified subjects, he didn’t know much.

Still, he could make judgments based on certain experiences Ersha had gone through. Those memories weren’t completely clear but he could vaguely see and remember words.

In the face of at least twelve presences in the fifth tier, he knew only one option. Run.

“What do you think we could do?” Edna asked, rather interested in his state of mind. The display of his pet’s strength had put him up there in terms of respect. She was certain he had more to offer.

Noah considered her words for a bit, but huge masses of smoke rose from different points in the chasm each one of them carrying heavy presences.

The jumble of roars did not stop, as several collisions of energies unfolded.

Agitated by the movement of those giants in the fifth tier, fourth-tier beasts could only unfold in razed fury towards each other. It quickly became a mess.

“I believe the only thing we can do is avoid the entire thing,” Noah stated, revealing a helpless smile. The number of auras there was getting almost too much for him.

‘At this point will I really be able to kill a fifth-tier beast?’

“That is the right choice. Our mission was never to kill or hunt. We’re only travelers. And travelers avoid commotions if they can.” Lady Edna explained.

“It’s only a shame we were the ones to kindle the flames of this mess.”

A powerful gust of wind swept their figures and Yuno’s beast appeared in the sky with them.

“It doesn’t matter–” Yuno grunted, landing on the back of his feathered pet. From that point, they would be flying.

“–The officials of the nation will deal with it themselves.”

Elder Velsvon floated forward too and Lady Edna joined. Noah nodded in response to those words even if his eyes sharpened and his gaze shot to his right side.

A powerful screech reached his ears followed by the appearance of a tailed flying beast in the higher stage of the fourth tier. It was massive.

Noah casually swung his right dagger at the beast, severing it in two in one fell swoop.

Intense orange flames burst into existence on the severed portions and trails of energy shot towards Noah’s figure.

He let the dagger eat all that energy tho. Even if it barely filled it up.

A higher-stage beast had been decimated in literally one strike. He felt too strong for the fourth tier but lacked the type of firepower required for handling the fifth tier. At least in his base form.

He still wasn’t comfortable in revealing the best of the best in terms of his arsenal. His transformation would be that peak.

Still, he didn’t know if he could breach the gap between the fourth tier and the fifth tier with its activation.

He would have tried were he not in a group.

Noah stepped forward to arrive on the beast’s back.

“Brace yourselves…. We’re going hyper-sonic,” Yuno revealed as gray inscriptions appeared beneath their sitting figures to hold them in place.

Noah conjured a barrier of wind around himself.

The beast raised its head to voice a loud screech as though taunting the other fifth-tier beasts approaching them, then it flapped its wings once.

Bam!

The sound barrier could only crumble at that acceleration speed; as the beast transformed into a turquoise streak traversing the distance. Its passage shook the sky.

At that speed, it didn’t take them too long to completely escape the chasm’s regions and the danger that followed it.

But right after the chasm was a gorge separating the chasm from the rest of the nation’s lands. That demarcation couldn’t do much against flying beasts, though. Canyons lay past the gorge.

The winds wheezed past the mount’s figure trying to catch up to it, but she remained faster.

“We’re about to cross a region guarded by Papine’s soldiers. She’s speeding up now,” Yuno conveyed his intentions mentally.

“Officials?” Noah asked making sure his consciousness touched those experts.

“Would they not follow in a chase?”

“They normally would…” Lady Edna revealed, suddenly standing. Shockingly, despite their velocity her hair did not even flutter!

“But he’ll deal with that,” she announced, pointing at the ground. Noah followed the direction of her finger, and he quickly caught sight of what she meant.

The massive figure of a purple centipede burst forth from the scorched grounds, making a mess of the kilometers around it.

But that wasn’t all, something else had emerged from the ground with it.

‘Another fifth-tier beast!’ Noah gasped inwardly, the rush of their situation told on him.

Due to their speed, he could only catch sight of their battle once before they were out of view. 𝘳.𝑐𝘰

He had not even been able to hear the sound of their clash.

“He’ll cause a big enough distraction. Hopefully, that’ll give us time to completely escape them.”

Noah nodded and looked forward, prepared for what was to come, and he immediately saw it emerging on the horizon.

Huge buildings stood erect on the elevations of the canyons pulsing with unknown power. Even Noah sensed high-tier magic.

However, at that exact moment did their mount explode in speed, and cracks appeared in Noah’s protection, but he fixed it.

‘I don’t think they can stop us,’ Noah concluded inwardly, and he wasn’t wrong. A second didn’t go by before they reached and crossed the area possessing those buildings.
