That same day, Chen Lihua was transferred back to the house belonging to her and Liu Longwei. She was in the same bedroom she stayed to give birth to Taio.
The next time Chen Lihua woke up, she didn’t cry, she only kept muttering for her child while staring into space.
Seeing his beloved wife in that condition, brought tears to Liu Longwei’s eyes for the first time. He didn’t even know he was crying until his mother came to his side and patted his shoulder in tears too.
Just like the doctor said, Chen Lihua had slipped into depression. She couldn’t come to terms with the fact that her child was gone.
Liu Longwei kept blaming himself and arranged a psychologist to see Chen Lihua. The members of the Chen and the Liu families came to see Chen Lihua at home.
Chen Lihua’s grandparents heard the news and were deeply pained. They wanted to visit, but Chen Lihua’s father stopped them from visiting, because of her current state.
Old Madam Liu heard the news and insisted on visiting, but she was stooped as well.
Chynna heard the news of what happened to her friend from Lihua’s brother and immediately visited.
She cried uncontrollably when she saw the state Chen Lihua was in.
Chen Lihua wasn’t speaking to anybody, and she also wasn’t listening to anyone. She would occasionally stare at anyone that said something to her, before glancing out through the window.
Sometimes she would lie on her bed and coil herself in a fetal position. Sometimes, she would be quiet and sometimes, she still called for her child.
She refused treatment. In fact, the result was that she wasn’t willing to be treated, so the doctors couldn’t help much with her recovery.
Liu Longwei and everyone else tried to make her willing to recover, but it didn’t work. They thought about bringing Taio to her to see if it would work.
So today, Taio was brought back from his paternal home. He was so excited to see his mother and ran towards her when he saw her sitting on the bed with her hands circled her legs, and with her head resting on her knees.
“Mummy!.” He called out to her in an excited tone as he ran towards her.
Chen Lihua’s gaze fluttered and turned her gaze to glance at him. On seeing him, a smile appeared on her face as she called out to him, “Taio! Is that you? You have grown so big.”
“Mummy, where have you been, I have missed you!.” Taio said as he stared at her with his round eyes.
“I don’t know. Taio, when did you learn to speak?.” Chen Lihua asked as she rubbed his cheeks with her palms.
Lady Chen and Madam Liu who have been standing at the side almost had a heart attack. ‘Does Lihua have a memory loss?!’ They thought.
Liu Longwei looked sad the more he watched the interaction between the mother and son.
Taio was surprised that his mother would ask such a question. “Mum, did you forget that? Dad and grandma told me you are sick.”
“Sick? I’m not sick! Did he tell you that? I’m not sick!.” Chen Lihua said in a loud tone.
Taio flinched and became scared seeing his mother react so strongly.
Lady Chen came and quickly took him away.
The doctor was called in, and she managed to sedate Chen Lihua.
“She doesn’t find peace here. You need to take her to a place where she doesn’t see the people that have hurt her, otherwise, she can’t recover. I can’t even do anything because she is not willing.” The doctor said to Liu Longwei with a serious facial expression.
“Are you saying to take her out of the country?.” Liu Longwei asked.
“If possible, yes. Her condition is getting worse, and she is becoming more unstable. She doesn’t recognize anyone, and she is not willing to recover. Taking her to a place that doesn’t remind her of her past and present, will help you slowly heal her wounds. She will be able to start healing slowly, once she accepts treatment.”
From what the doctor said, Liu Longwei understood that Chen Lihua needed to get away from the place and people that hurt her, in other to slowly heal.
This was a tough decision for him. How could he best to send his wife away?
After speaking with the doctor, Liu Longwei left the house and drove straight to an empty street, and parked his car in front of the building.
A young man who was standing outside the building, bowed immediately he recognized Liu Longwei. He opened the door to the building, and they both went straight to the basement.
Seeing the woman that was currently being tortured, Liu Longwei stood there and watched for a while, before making his way towards her.
“Miss Zie!.” Liu Longwei called out.
Zie Yu who was so weak from being tortured for days, couldn’t raise her head to look at Liu Longwei. She looked so tattered and dirty, and a lot of bruises could be seen on her skin.
Zie Yu recognized the voice and smiled as she managed to glance at Liu Longwei with her blood-stained face and laughed hysterically.
“Did you like the gift I gave to you? How does it feel to lose your child?” Zie Yu asked in a sluggish tone.
“I definitely didn’t like your gift, but I hope you like mine!.” Liu Longwei said and picked up a pressing iron and smeared it on one side of Zie Yu’s face.
Zie Yu gave off a piercing scream when the hot pressing iron was placed on her left cheek.
Some seconds later, Liu Longwei turned to the people there and instructed, “later this evening, release her to the beggars and let them play with her if they still fancy her. By tomorrow morning, let the police come and take her.”
After relaying the instructions to them, he walked out of the building, entered his car, and drove away.
On getting to the house, he went straight to his bedroom to wash up before taking the lift downstairs to see his wife.
