“Stop right there Mr. Lucas, first we need to fix the training field”
Raising one of her hands, Amanda gestured for Lucas to halt.
“And Mr. Willburn, I think you have done enough. Go stand back at your place, we’ll talk about this.”
“Yes, mam.”
Dropping his head like a puppy, Anthony replied in an apologetic tone and went to stand back at his place.
The training field was cracked into two halves, looking as if an earthquake had just hit. Few of the training dummies were crushed, while some were nowhere to be found.
“Nice display” Sam teased.
“Please shut up” Anthony replied in embarrassment.
“I mean you could’ve held back a little haha,” Kiara said chipping in.
“I tried! It’s just…”
“You wanted to show off right? Hehehe” Sam continued his teasing, his comment made Kiara giggle making Anthony drop his head even more as a result.
“Where is Drake?” Anthony tried to change the subject..
“He’s skipping. I think the anatomy class ruined his mood, Robin is with him right now.” Kiara replied.
While the group was indulging themselves in chit-chat, a few [Telekinesis] users were fixing the damage that Anthony had caused.
After a few minutes when the new dummy dolls were set up and the damaged field was renewed, Amanda called out to Lucas again.
“Mr. Redwing, you may come to the center of the field.”
Lucas only scoffed before taking a few steps and arriving at the center of the field.
For some reason, he turned his head around and looked in Anthony’s direction before letting out a soft scoff once again.
“Umm guys is it just me-“
“No, it’s not just you, it’s totally a provocation.”
Sam rolled his eyes and replied to Anthony before he could even completely frame his question.
“Agh I see… why though?”
Ignoring the totally obvious question, Sam jerked his head to his right and looked at Kiara who was standing right next to him.
“What? Anything wrong? Maybe the weather?” Feeling his eyes on her, Kiara questioned Sam.
The phrase, ‘Maybe the weather’ followed up by ‘Anything wrong’ was their codeword.
If on an off chance someone were to discover their identity or get suspicious of them, then it was a secret phrase for them to communicate.
One would ask, “What’s wrong? Maybe the weather?” and if the other would nod, then the pair will instantly activate their escape plan.
However, Sam just kept on looking at Kiara. Tightly knitting her brows in a furrow, Kiara spoke in a concerned tone.
“Sam you’re creeping me out… Tell me what’s up?”
“…Do you perhaps not remember what happened last night?” Sam feeling Anthony’s attention on him, carefully framed his question.
“Umm, I do why?”
It was clear from her reaction that she didn’t remember a thing. But Sam activated his [Mind Reading] regardless just to be sure.
(Hmm so that Willburn bitch wasn’t lying when she said she wiped out her memories)
‘Hmm looks like it’
“Umm Sam? What’s up, dude?” Kiara asked again, this time clearly more concerned since the black-haired boy wouldn’t stop staring at her.
“Nothing, it’s fine”
“…Okay weirdo”
Sam nodded and diverted his attention back to the red-haired boy who topped the entrance exam.
Lucas Redwing.
It’ll be the first time for him and many others to witness his capabilities.
All Sam knew about him was that he possessed a super-broken ability, [Vector Control].
Thus, he couldn’t help but be a little eager when Amanda announced Lucas to begin.
“Lucas Redwing, show us your finishing mov-” Before Amanda could even ask him to begin, Lucas activated his ability.
“Crush!”
He shouted and a bright scarlet hue enveloped his petite figure.
He lightly stomped his foot on the ground and in the next moment, the ground started breaking up and chunks of it started floating above his head.
Lucas then stretched his hand toward the dummy targets and the chunks of rocks were sent flying toward the targets.
The boulders whipped through the air making a hard whistle sound before clashing on the metal dummies.
With precision, he crushed 10 of 10 targets at the same time.
His demonstration wasn’t as destructive as Anthony’s and nor as big, but everyone present there could tell that the petite little light red-haired boy is a force to be feared of.
‘Interesting’ Sam remarked in his mind.
(Meh, your ability is much more broken)
‘Of course, it is’
“Well done Mr. Redwing, what do you intend to call that move?”
“That? I don’t intend to ever use it, it’s not even my strongest, if I wish I can destroy this whole facility with a snap” Lucas calmly declared with a shrug.
If one were to look closely at Amanda, a twitching nerve on her forehead could be seen.
‘These damn brats!’ She cursed in her mind.
“I see, I believe you could do just that. However for now I want you to go stand back to your place please,” Amanda said with an ‘I’m so done smile’ on her face.
“Ha,” Lucas scoffed again and went back to stand at his place. As soon as he went back, a group of boys surrounded him. They were his lackeys.
Seeing this Sam’s interest in him piqued more.
(Don’t even think about it. You said it yourself that you aren’t ready to turn people into demons right now!)
‘I’m just interested in his strength.’
“Fine then, who wanna come next?… You know what? Never mind, I’ll choose for myself who will come next!”
Amanda said and pointed at a girl in the back of the crowd.
“You, what’s your name?”
The girl looked side to side to confirm if it was really her who was being called.
“Yes, you! What’s your name!”
“Eh… Umm… Li-Liz, Liz Fireforged.” The girl timidly answered.
“Ho,” Sam couldn’t help but exclaim lightly in shock.
(Would you look at that?!) Even the voice in his head voiced his inner surprise.
“A Fireforged? This day keeps on getting interesting by the second!”
