Rui Yewan couldn’t believe it. His sister had been slaving for six months trying to master her ghost skill but failed countless times. This skill would allow her to disappear and reappear elsewhere but over the past months the best she could do was partially vanish and that’s it.
But today for a handsome man she performed it flawlessly with no guidance. Was that what he needed to do? Find a handsome man and he wouldn’t have to waste his time tutoring her? Thinking of the abuse he suffered each time she failed his heart ached.
Rui Li would dissect his entire face and body with her sharp tongue for being a terrible teacher. Of course, he would fire back which would result in a fight but still…
“It seems all we need to get Li-er to pass her homework is that guy, right?” he said to Rui Fei but he was rewarded with a sharp glare that had him stiffly looking forward before slowly retreating a step at a time.
“My benefactor is so handsome…. wah! Do you bathe in honey every day or is it that you drink the morning dew from a cherry blossom? Eek… you must be using a gold facial mask or bathing in milk,” she said before decisively hugging his waist, “Oh, he smells so good.”
Everyone, “…”
Anticipating an atomic bomb the crew members scattered with Big Hei literally jumping off the ship. Even Xiaoyu hid behind the main mast lest she got caught up in the crossfire. Who didn’t know Ji Yao didn’t like being touched. Even a poke could have you left with five fingers what more a hug?
Ji Wen raised his finger as he was about to warn her but swallowed back his words. He turned to Rui Fei and asked, “How much do you value your sister?”
Rui Fei who also wanted a hug came back to himself and turned to Ji Wen with a vexed expression.
“Ahem….. what I mean to say is on a scale of one to ten how angry would you be if your sister….. is cough cough struck by lightning cough,” said Ji Wen trying to conceal the last part with a cough but of course Rui Fei heard it.
A sly smile gradually formed on Rui Yewan’s face imagining Rui Li as a roasted butternut (because she wears orange).
Ji Wen, “…”
What part of what he said warranted such a devious smile? Rui Yewan seemed to notice Ji Wen’s gaze so he covered his mouth with his fist and pretended to sigh before putting up a serious expression. With a hand on his hip he said, “That, that would be ba-bad ahem.”
Meanwhile, Ji Yao was on pins and needles as the little girl nuzzled on his waist like a puppy. He also didn’t know why he was like this. The only touch he could tolerate was Ji Wen’s but the rest were either beaten or offed by him. This is why the entire deck was like a desert with no tumbleweed in sight.
What he didn’t realise was that it wasn’t a him problem but more like a Qilin problem. His mother’s entire clan was like that except to their parents and spouse. It was a thing but of course, he didn’t know it. He felt like a colony of fire ants were crawling all over his body giving rise to the urge to attack.
Using the last of his self-restraint, he patted the girl’s head before, as gently as possible, pushing her away. As soon as he was free he strode over to his cabin before slamming the door harshly like his father owned IKEA. If he breaks the door his father would replace it at a snap of a finger.
Ji Wen patted his chest heaving a sigh of relief as the crew slowly came out of hiding. He laughed nervously as he said, “For your own safety… don’t touch him, okay?”
The other two were about to enquire a little more when Rui Li held on to the railing and yelled. “You lose Wan Wan. He is so handsome!! Woo!”
Okay, now Ji Wen understood why the other boy smiled earlier. This kid was a little not so okay upstairs.
“Why can’t I?” asked Rui Fei with that piteous look from before vanishing from his face.
“Uh?” asked Ji Wen who had been distracted by this child who was running around the deck like it was a playground. She looked like a kid high on ten cans of monster energy drink on a Monday morning.
“Touch him….. why can’t I?” asked Rui Fei seeming like he was being deprived of oxygen. That hair was literally calling for him to touch and maybe take a little sniff so how was he supposed to hold back? Let’s not forget that he was curious George if curious George was a teenager. Well, this curious George was a little too curious in the future which almost cost him a finger.
“Ha ha, just trust me on this,” said Ji Wen before leading them inside the ship. “Big Hei give them a tour and once they are done bring them to my cabin,” he said to Big Hei who was still hiding behind a watermelon cart.
The old aunty selling the watermelons glared at him when he stood up to leave without buying anything. “So that’s how it is, huh? You use my cart as a shield but don’t buy anything?! Since I provided you with protection you should be paying me protection fees,” said the mafia grandma holding up a plank.
Big Hei, “…..”
“Hurry up!” she yelled with her hand stretch out. Her expression seemed to say pay up or get beaten and this lovely giant didn’t dare retaliate. If he does he might not be able to control his strength and kill her which means he would get into trouble with his captain. Let’s just say that the entire ship had enough watermelons to last a month after that.
When Ji Wen passed by Old Du, he grabbed him by the ear to his cabin for a one on one. He was following Ji Yao last night but apparently, he hadn’t shown his face since then. So where did this old man go exactly?
Old Du rubbed his poor ear as he attempted to placate the captain. He did follow but somewhat… accidentally got lost at the black market. The place had all sorts of ingredients that could make the most potent untraceable poisons so he got distracted.
Ji Wen was about to pass judgement when Old Du hurriedly said, “Don’t be rash captain because I made sure that Zhang pervert won’t be able to get up for a very long time hahahaha ha hahahaha, sorry sorry got to ex-excited.”
“What did you do? asked Ji Wen not understanding Old Du’s evil laugh from earlier.
Let’s just say since Zhang Ci likes groping butts he got his poisoned that it swelled up like a balloon making it difficult to get out of bed.. This meant young master Zhang wouldn’t be showing his face for at least a year.
