“That thing… Looks like an old power station or sort. Does it even still working?” Zhang Tianci asked. He might be a clone, but he still has quite much knowledge stuffed in his head during the growing process. In commonsense alone, he might be much better than Zhang Qin Feng.
But right at this moment, there’s no commonsense needed.
To keep an electronic interference beacon running, a constant supply of electricity is a must. Obviously, the power supply would have to rely on a different power source to run or be designed differently to keep the interference away.
Again, obviously, the former option would be a more economical one, compared to the latter. Unless it was backed by a firm financial institution to design the interference unit, the second option hardly comes into their mind.
And since that was the case, won’t this make their life easier for Zhang Qin Feng and his crews?
“Operator, what’s your opinion about blowing that generator over there?” Zhang Qin Feng handed the binoculars in his hand to the driver, and he wanted him to take a look plus provide his opinion.
Since this operator was also the person that suggested this, he would be the most appropriate person to what was in his mind.
Taking the binoculars from Zhang Qin Feng, the driver took a while to study the situation down there. But he doesn’t have all the time either.
Due to the changes in wind direction, some zombies on the outer circle already noticed their existence.
“Team Leader, we need some help here.” said one of the vanguard team members following Zhang Tianci. They also noticed the risk of using firearms here. Luckily, they could still rely on the traditional cold weaponry to overcome these virus carriers.
But without Zhang Tianci helping them against the mutants, even twice their number would still be not enough to fight the zombie swarm. Each of them had the older Phalanx-Pistol on them, but again, they had a limit of ammunition for the gun.
“Creator, I’ll be going first. Let me know if I need to do anything later.” Zhang Tianci left after telling what he had in mind. From the look of it, he had a hunch that Zhang Qin Feng would come up with something very soon.
“Operator, any idea?” Zhang Qin Feng asked.
“Boss, I have an idea, but it might be risky. You see… In total, I noticed three power stations surrounding the outer circle of the interference beacon. As we had no leisure to study how it was built, our only choice would be blowing it.”
“But this is where our problem comes in.” the operator’s expression changed slightly.
“This is going to be a gamble, Boss,” he added. Based on what the operator said, there’s a possibility of success and failure in all their attempts.
Since they had no leisure time to slowly study how the power station works, they had no idea if blowing one would do the work or all three. And in the worst-case scenario, maybe blowing all three would trigger another trap, which would be worst compared to what they’re facing right now.
This is like a puzzle that you won’t get the answer correctly from a single try. It would keep coming along with more questions, which will pull the player further unconsciously until it was too deep for him to give up.
“Also… Do we even have so much powerful weaponry to blow apart a fortified power station? Unless we delivered something with the Decimator’s payload on that station, we’re likely going to take more than what we have to take it down, Boss…” said the operator.
“Oh fuck…” Zhang Qin Feng’s head cracked for the first time today after hearing that he might not have enough to take off a single power station.
‘No… I have to take the bet no matter what. Nothing will happen if we’re not going to try. But again, how do we get to that side and blow that thing apart successfully?’ another issue came to him after Zhang Qin Feng convinced himself.
First of all, he had to risk everything to cancel out the electronic interference by blowing one of the power stations.
But before doing that, he had to count on all the firepower he had in hand to break the fortified power station.
And now, Zhang Qin Feng still has to develop a plan to get everyone there to accomplish what he had in mind.
This is indeed a problematic task.
“Boss?” the operator and medical crew in the car were confused when Zhang Qin Feng suddenly became quieter.
[Toot… Toot…]
Unknown how it happened, Zhang Qin Feng’s Luna Device flashed twice. It seems that his wristwear wasn’t entirely dead at all. The weak vibration quickly caught his attention as Zhang Qin Feng took a look at the screen.
[Wang Yufei and Jun Minji’s suspected Pregnancy. Estimated delivery, 4 months]
Those were all the words shown on his Luna Device.
But the effectiveness it brought to Zhang Qin Feng is more than what he could imagine. It was like a surge of energy suddenly appearing in his mind, which made him feel more daring than before.
“Get Tianci back here.” Zhang Qin Feng said.
“Everyone else, come to my side. I will let all of you know my plan right now,” said Zhang Qin Feng.
Using the time Zhang Tianci came back to brief the non-combatant crews, Zhang Qin Feng came up with a brilliant strategy to reduce their number of deaths.
After ensuring everyone knew what they had to do, Zhang Qin Feng waited for the right moment to make their move.
A few flares were fired opposite of where they had to go soon. And it doesn’t stop there. More flares were shot right into the sea of zombies as it caused them to go disarray and chase after the red flares not too far from them.
This immediately created an opportunity for Zhang Qin Feng and the others to make their move.
“The opportunity is here! Move out, everyone!” Zhang Qin Feng ordered.. Riding aboard the vehicle, Zhang Qin Feng, Zhang Tianci, and three other vanguard members took the lead as they charged into the sea of zombies.
