At the other side of the town, three mutated animals could be seen moving around carefully.
One was a huge carabao, the other was a long and thin crocodile, while the last one was a bird with a bald head.
They were Nile’s pets. Ever since they escaped the battle earlier, they kept searching for a place to level up.
The three were restless as they could not help but worry about Nile’s situation. There was even a time where Maximo wanted to go back and help his favorite person.
However, Ogis and Croco managed to convince him otherwise, saying that they won’t be able to help much even if they came back and they might have just dragged their owner down.
And so, the three searched and searched for a safe place to evolve to no avail. They will spot a house every now and then but considering what happened earlier, they would always give each house a skeptical look before passing and ignoring them.
It was already approaching an hour since they started searching and Ogis was already getting impatient.
Ekkk!
He finally could not take it anymore as he flapped his massive wings and flew towards the branch of a huge tree.
Ogis then stared down at Croco and Maximo before releasing a series of shrieks as if he was talking with them.
Croco and Maximo looked at each other before they both nod at the same time.
The two then distance themselves from each other as they laid on the ground disregarding the fact that they are quite open for others to seem
However, they no longer mind it as they could also feel that they would be evolving soon.
Ogis nodded his bald head as he glanced around to survey the area. He only needs to rest and his injuries will be able to heal. He doesn’t need to advance right now and as per Nile’s instructions before, he became Croco and Maximo’s watcher.
As they could not find any suitable place, Ogis decided to just let them advance on the spot. He reassured the two that he would protect them no matter what.
Seeing them trying to advance, Ogis nodded his head in satisfaction. He also tightened his surveillance around the area so as not to let even a single ant escape his watch.
Swoosh!
Ogis suddenly dived down and clawed a Level One zombie that was crawling suspiciously on the ground.
With Ogis’ sharp talons and strong legs, the level one zombie got beheaded in an instant.
He then went back to the top of the tree and continued his patrol over the area.
…
Back in the southern area, Adam and the others went inside a huge building and went straight to its basement. As per his pigeon’s report, four hybrids were really approaching them at extreme speed.
When he relayed the message to the others, they also could not help but gulp a mouthful of saliva due to anxiety.
It was the four Elders of the Hybrid faction after all. Before the apocalypse, the four of them were members of the Police Department.
And they were even in high positions before. Due to that, it is to be expected that they know some hand-to-hand combat or other combat methods.
Although the 10 of them were also Level Two just like the elders, only a few of them knew some basic martial arts and others only knew the most basic stuffs, like a simple punch, simple kick, simple slashes and other moves that could be done even by a kid.
Hearing that, Dotina and the Pink Faction Leader immediately decided to abandon their escape plan for now and instead immediately hide before the Four Elders could spot them.
And after a while of searching, they finally choose the basement of this building.
They encountered a zombie along the way but they immediately dealt with it. As they were trying to escape away from the center of the town, they didn’t meet any hybrid along the way which became convenient for them.
After a while, they settled and made themselves comfortable in the basement while trying to let the night pass. As the hybrids have a huge advantage during the night, it was a fool’s move to fight them during such time.
They wanted to let the night pass and continue their escape tomorrow morning.
Even though the Four Elders won’t be affected that much during the day, their boost will still end and only their raw strength would remain and they might even feel weak a little due to the day effect.
However, even though they are already completely hidden from plain sight, they still did not dare to let their guard down. After all, every hybrid could smell the blood of their own men and with the Pink Faction’s leader and Katrina fighting them brutally before, it won’t be surprising if some of the hybrids’ blood got spilled on their body or clothes while fighting.
However, they already changed them along their way here so they thought it should be alright now.
Dotina released a sigh as she stared at the Pink Faction Leader in pity.
She could not help but recall the smile that her student beamed before along with her niece, Jellan.
She did not know what was the real reason for their feud for them to have this animosity towards each other, even dragging other people for it.
And when she asked her niece about it, Jellan only answered that she was only defending herself.
Dotina shook her head lightly to get rid of her thoughts. She then took and untied the Blue handkerchief tied to her shoulder before opening the folded handkerchief.
She then took the orange pill that was hidden on the handkerchief’s fold before sending it flying towards Jake who caught it immediately.
“Give that to them, that’s the seed of Tiny Oranges and they have the effects of easing the pain, we have already proven it. That’s the only seed I have so just break it in half before giving it to them.”
