Chapter 34 Song Hu outsmarted!

Chapter 34 Song Hu outsmarted!

The tension inside the warehouse was palpable. Song Hu was sweating profusely, his heart pounding with fear despite being the one who had kidnapped Yu Lei.

Yu Lei was tied up in a chair opposite him, her eyes darting back and forth in terror.

She had never been one for violence or aggression and this situation was pushing her to her limits.

The four burly goons, each with a scorpion tattoo etched onto the back of their hands, loomed menacingly around them.

These tattoos were a warning to anyone who dared cross their path.

Zhang Wei had snuck into the warehouse undetected, and what he saw made his blood boil. “Scorpion gang and Song family?” he muttered under his breath, realizing the implications of this discovery.

But he had a more pressing task at hand – he needed to rescue Yu Lei before things escalated any further. He breathed a sigh of relief when he saw that she appeared unharmed.

His attention then turned to Song Hu, who was now his primary target. “His death can wait…” he thought to himself as he made his way out of the warehouse and into the darkness.

Zhang Wei made his way to an old dormitory, where he suspected that a cache of explosives was being kept.

Pulling back a ragged blanket, he found a container full of white rice. He plunged his hands into the grain, searching for the cylindrical objects wrapped in wire that he knew were hidden inside.

When he finally found what he was looking for, his eyes lit up with a dangerous glint.

The Scorpion gang was importing these explosives from one country and using them to fuel their criminal enterprise.

Zhang Wei knew he had to act fast. He had a plan that would make Song Hu’s soul tremble in the underworld.

Leng Yan arrived at the designated location as instructed by Zhang Wei, who had texted her to turn off her sirens.

She followed his request and parked her car a distance away from the old warehouse.

As she approached the building, she scanned her surroundings, but there was no sign of Zhang Wei.

Just as she was about to call him, someone covered her mouth and dragged her to the backside of the warehouse.

!?

Leng Yan was taken aback and ready to retaliate.

However, when she saw the familiar eyes of Zhang Wei, she halted her actions.

He dragged her to the back and finally let go of her.

Leng Yan looked at him with a mix of anger and hurt, “Are you crazy?”

She spoke with controlled fury, trying to keep her voice low.

She couldn’t understand Zhang Wei’s actions.

Zhang Wei got straight to the point, “Did you get what I asked for?”

Leng Yan was still angry, but she didn’t forget the reason for their meeting. “Yes, I did. But can you tell me why you need it first?” She nodded and spoke, trying to mask her emotions.

Zhang Wei noticed her gaze pointing in certain direction, he enhanced his vision with qi, and noticed her car, along with another passenger in it.

For a moment even Zhang Wei was amazed, but then his grin turned evil.

“Of course I would, but let’s get back to your car first,” spoke, Zhang Wei.

“??”

Leng Yan was confused by his sudden request, but she still nodded, albeit with suspicion evident in her eyes.

Zhang Wei’s cultivation was masked by the system, thus for her, he was only an ordinary man that she can beat anytime when required.

Just when she turned around unguarded, something fell hard on the back of her neck.

!!

Her eyes opened wide in surprise, but it was too late.

Zhang Wei directly attacked her fatal point, making her faint.

He hastily caught her body, to prevent it from falling to ground and making any noise.

Zhang Wei asked the system how long Leng Yan would remain unconscious, and it replied that she wouldn’t wake up for at least an hour.

He nodded and proceeded to drag her towards her car, making sure she looked drunk and leaned on him for support.

He also noticed a pleasant fragrance emanating from her body, making him briefly consider that she wasn’t entirely bad.

However, he didn’t have time to take this lady police officer at the moment.

Upon reaching her car, Zhang Wei opened the driver’s seat and threw Leng Yan’s body inside.

He then turned to the little girl sitting in the passenger seat and waved his hand.

Before she could utter a word, she too fell unconscious.

Zhang Wei looked at the young girl, who appeared to be no more than ten years old, and sighed deeply.

He couldn’t help but think, ‘This police officer is truly vicious to think that she kidnapped Song Hu’s daughter.’

Zhang Wei directly assumed, that the little girl was Song Hu’s daughter.

Afterward, he proceeded to undress the little girl, who was still unconscious.

[… The author was joking, Zhang Wei didn’t do anything funny to her, maybe he did, but not in the sense you are thinking.]

….

As Song Hu paced inside the dilapidated warehouse, his anxiety grew with each passing minute.

It had been over an hour since he had abducted Yu Lei, and Zhang Wei, the man who was supposed to save her, was nowhere in sight.

Song Hu was at a loss as to what to do with her. The thought of killing an innocent citizen still made him shiver, let alone someone wealthy.

Yu Lei was no ordinary person.

Her death would not go unnoticed.

She worked in a high ranking position in Lin group, their direct rival.

The police would investigate the matter thoroughly, and if the Song Family patriarch found out about Song Hu’s monstrous deed, he would surely be strangled to death.

Song Hu’s motive for this heinous act was to humiliate Zhang Wei in front of his wife.

He sneered at Yu Lei, trying to instill panic in her. “It seems your husband doesn’t care for you,” he said with a false sense of pity.

But his words had the opposite effect.

Yu Lei wished that Zhang Wei would not come to her rescue, for she would rather die than be subjected to such humiliation.

As they waited, the tension in the air was palpable. Song Hu’s heart raced with excitement, wondering if it was Zhang Wei who had finally arrived.

He gripped the rope tightly around Yu Lei’s wrists, ready to use her as a hostage if needed.

“Haha, you took a lot of time, brat. It appears you didn’t abandon her yet,” Song Hu spoke with disdain, trying to mask his nervousness with bravado.

The footsteps grew louder, and Song Hu could see the silhouette of a man at the entrance.

Yu Lei’s eyes widened with fear and she tried to say something, but the duct tape over her mouth prevented her from speaking.

The other members of the Red Scorpion gang sneered at the scene, relishing in the terror of their captives.

“Haha, he took a lot of time. Should we break his hand for it?” one of the members with spiked hair suggested, cracking his knuckles menacingly.

“Nah, let’s break his legs so he can’t run,” another suggested, wielding a crowbar.

“Why don’t we break both?” another with yellow hair chimed in, brandishing a knife.

The menacing goons of the notorious Red Scorpion gang gradually closed in on Zhang Wei’s shadow, their steps echoing ominously in the desolate place.

Song Hu held his breath, his heart pounding with fear and anticipation as Zhang Wei stepped into the light.

To his surprise, the Zhang Wei was not alone.

A young girl with flowing black hair trailed silently behind him, her mouth gagged with duct tape just like Yu Lei.

“Ruolan?!” Song Hu gasped in disbelief, recognizing the face of another innocent child held captive by Zhang Wei.

“Wait!” he barked at his comrades, signaling them to halt their advance.

Zhang Wei grinned wickedly, savoring the fear and desperation in his victims’ eyes.

The young girl squirmed and wriggled in his grasp, but his blade was already hovering dangerously close to her neck.

With a cruel flick of his wrist, Zhang Wei silenced her protests and made her freeze in terror.

“Oh, it seems you have a soft spot for her. Is she your precious daughter, perhaps?” Zhang Wei taunted, relishing the power he held over Song Hu and his allies.

Song Hu was seething with anger, his teeth grinding together and his fists tightly clenched.

He couldn’t believe that Zhang Wei had outsmarted him so easily.

How had he managed to locate his daughter and kidnap her in just one hour?

The thought made Song Hu’s blood boil, yet he didn’t have the luxury to think about how Zhang Wei managed to kidnap his daughter – his prime concern was her safety how.

Meanwhile, Zhang Wei was quietly pleased with himself, ‘So this little girl is indeed his daughter, thank you officer Leng! … Unfortunately, the little girl can only blame her Laozi for her fate…’

Zhang Wei had always been a cunning man, and now he had proven it once again by capturing Song Hu’s daughter using Leng Yan’s resources. 𝒪𝑽𝓵xt.𝒸𝔬𝑀

Song Hu realized that Zhang Wei had edge over him, and he didn’t want to be a pawn in Zhang Wei’s hands.

However, he also understood that he couldn’t put his daughter’s life in jeopardy.

He tried to reason with Zhang Wei, offering him whatever he had in exchange for his daughter’s safe return.

“I’ll free your wife, Zhang Wei,” Song Hu said, his voice trembling with anger. “Just let my daughter go and we can all leave peacefully.”

Zhang Wei just laughed in response, his eyes gleaming with malice. “Why would I do that?” he sneered. “You think you can just demand that I release my only leverage against you? You’re sorely mistaken, my friend. First, order your goons to throw away their weapons and step aside.”

Song Hu gritted his teeth even harder, his anger boiling over.

However, he was determined to protect his daughter at all costs.

Zhang Wei, who was in front of him, no longer looked like the gentleman he had met earlier.

Instead, he looked like a maniac with dark eyes that suggested a history of violence, and Song Hu was familiar with that look.

Taking a deep breath, Song Hu tried to think of a way to get out of this mess.
