Primordial Dimensions Novel

Chapter 86 - Counteroffensive!

Hearing that their main force was fighting against the thunder wolves was not a good sign and Shane decided to report the situation in brief.

“The two-race beast tide has started, but we have already called for reinforcements and the shelter should be able to hold out. The main issue is that they stalled while the awakened crystal feathered eagles and the majority of awakened scaled lizards haven’t attacked us yet.

There is an extremely intelligent awakened beast among the three races! Survive and return without too many casualties!!”

The other party disconnected the call abruptly after hearing Shane causing him to frown. But then he couldn’t be upset as he wasn’t aware of how the military was faring against their opponents.

He was about to imagine the worst-case scenario when an Elite-stage crystal feathered eagle dived down towards him. Luckily the crystal feathered eagle was shot by one of the Archers next to him.

Thanking him, Shane decided that he had more important things to take care of. He gave more instructions, while he assigned a few Expert stage archers and crossbowmen to focus more on the awakened stage beasts with the top priority being the crystalized eagles.

Even though their morale had increased by a large margin, some Archers couldn’t evade wind blades and crystal feathered eagles. It was a gruesome sight for the surrounding soldiers to see their comrades getting severed and torn apart.

However, Shane gave his best to boost everyone’s morale together while trying to simultaneously eliminate the most dangerous threats for the soldiers and citizens with a few instructions.

A few minutes later he saw a soldier unit with green leather armors and long spears in their hands rushing towards the northern gate as he noticed the emblem on their chest.

His mood lifted and Shane was immediately overjoyed.

Fortunately, he remembered his current responsibility and calmed down. He asked the Archers to continue with their attack stating that he would return shortly.

As Shane rushed down the stairs, a particular young green-haired young man who seemed to be 20 years old stood out from the crowd. Shane approached him and said

“Are you the Cavalry captain? If that’s the case, prepare yourself. We have to open up the northern gate soon, otherwise, the whole northern wall will fall!” The green-haired young man was astonished about his behavior, wondering who this teenager was. He then suddenly recalled the words of his superior telling him that a young black-haired man was in charge and that he would immediately know if he was the right one.

His superior had asked him to listen to everything Shane told him. Thus, the green-haired man saluted Shane, before replying “Understood, Sir!” causing the surrounding soldiers to look at their captain in astonishment.

Turning around, the green-haired young man ordered “Prepare to move out!”. Meanwhile, Shane decided to rush towards the close combat unit in order to guide and instruct them further.

Shane noticed that everyone obeyed his orders and realized that his cover was almost blown. It was a rather disappointing but negligible fact.

‘At least only the RadiantRing shelter and a few soldiers will remember me and my face’ Shane tried to console himself.

In the end, it was only fortunate that nobody knew about his real identity or his full name.

As such everything was still fine.

After he gave his orders, Shane rushed back up the stairs in order to assess the current situation. He waited another 30 seconds before ordering a bunch of soldiers to open the northern gate.

Several scaled lizards had gathered near the front of the gate and Shane ordered his archers to take care of them before he sensed a large number of mana fluctuations behind him.

Suddenly around 300 wind rider horses appeared on the shelter’s main street out of nowhere. They were ready to charge at the shelter once commanded, as the cavalry riders sat on their back holding their spears.

Once the gate was open, Shane couldn’t help but shout excitedly “CHARGE!” with mana amplifying his voice. Hearing his command, a unit with three hundred cavalry riders charged out of the gate followed by hundreds of Warriors, Berserkers, Assassins, and all kinds of branch occupations.

Shane smiled lightly, on seeing the scaled lizards being overwhelmed by the sudden opening of the gate, as hundreds of Wild and Elite-stage beasts were massacred within seconds.

‘It’s not an Elite unit without reason, huh?’ Shane applauded them in his mind. He saw ten smaller units disperse in order to overwhelm the scaled lizards. The lizards attacked with fireballs, earth spikes, water jets, wind blades, and so on, but their attacks proved futile as they witnessed real speed.

Wind rider horses weren’t called like this for naught and with their stage being at the peak of the elite stage, they were able to defend themselves against a few scaled lizards by themselves.

However, fighting was not something they were capable of, while a kick was the only thing allowing them to flee from predators.

The core strength of the wind rider horses was their speed and agility not combat. They more than made up for their lack of fighting skills by moving almost at a dizzying speed. They were even faster than most normal awakened stage beasts like scaled lizards.

Only beasts like crystalized eagles would be faster but with the current situation on the ground, Shane noticed that the scaled lizards were completely overwhelmed.

He suddenly saw a lot of crystal feathered and crystalized eagles appear outside the radiant-sun magic circle, causing him to frown lightly.

Given the current situation on the ground, he could order all of his Archers and Crossbowmen to change their focus towards the sky.

With the cavalry and the close combat units clearing the ground, the Archers and Crossbowmen could easily take care of the flying beasts, which caused the whole perilous situation to end up in a massacre.

However, what astonished Shane the most was the extremely short amount of time the cavalry had required to prepare themselves to enter the RadiantRing shelter.

In his opinion, such a discipline should be common for every unit, as he looked at the cavalry in amazement.

Shane let out his breath, sighing in relief thinking that the whole situation would be over soon. However, his relief was short-lived as he spotted another bunch of evolved scaled lizards with large horns far away from them.

They were almost as large as trucks and Shane immediately furrowed his brows, wondering if this was the scaled lizards’ main force…

‘There are still more?’
