Qin Hua blinked and before she could even inspect the two kids, their eyes flashed open as if they had sensed her. They had neither seen her nor heard her come in but they had accurately sensed her presence.
Their eyes were white just like the other zombies and Qin Hua could feel a strange violent aura seeping out of them. Her first instinct was to run away from this danger and she did exactly that.
She dove back under the door and blended in with the shadow, quickly coming out the other end. She then was about to sprint away from the apartment of terror when a huge bang sounded behind her.
[Eeek!]
Qin Hua yelped, noticing that the place she had just stood a couple of seconds ago was completely charred.
And in that two seconds she hesitated, another whooshing sound echoed and a sharp ice spear directly came at her, hitting her shadow form.
Ding. -100
A damage number floated in front of her eyes, which widened even more seeing that she had lost about one-third of her health by just taking a single hit, that too in her shadow form.
She didn’t even think that she could take actual damage in her shadow form and had always thought of that as a state of escape, so this was eye-opening for her.
This was the first real damage she had taken and the surreal feeling that this was a matter of life and death and not an online game hit her hard.
[Shitttt! I cannot take one more hit!]
Qin Hua did not hesitate and activated her Dash skill. With all of her limbs shaking, she ran as fast as she could, diving into one shadow after another without turning back.
She sprang under the stairwell door and ran upwards, not wanting to lead the two kids directly to Su Yan and Lu Chen.
The kids as well followed her all the way to the stairwell and they blasted the strong door at its hinges with a couple of fireballs, making the door fly and fall down.
But in the few seconds that they had taken to do this, Qin Hua had already put a good distance between them and herself by running up all the way to the 20th floor.
She only paused when she saw that the kids were no longer following her.
[Huff. Huff. That was very close! Damn it! Just what level are they?] She sighed in relief and panted, her stamina and her health slowly recovering back up, tick by tick.
However, as she calmed down a bit, she suddenly realized something important.
This small altercation had caused so much noise and commotion in the building so how could Su Yan and Lu Chen not have noticed it? Wouldn’t they directly rush towards the danger?
The small wolf-like dog immediately stiffened up, the hair on her back standing erect.
[Woof!] Qin Hua shook her head and made a snap decision. She let out a low growl and ran back down to the 17th floor where she had seen the two powerful kid zombies.
And bingo!
Just as she thought, Su Yan and Lu Chen had promptly rushed over to check out the noise, after getting tired of searching through the empty floors that Qin Hua had previously cleared out.
[Nooo! Stop!] Qin Hua did not know what to do. She couldn’t alert her two friends without also alerting the two kids. However, she was already late.
As Su Yan and Lu Chen took another step, the two kids walked out of the same apartment with their hands raised forward as if they were holding pistols ready to aim and fire.
Their heads were down, but since their movements and features were rigid, at least the two guys were smart enough to know that the kids were no longer alive or rather conscious.
They could tell that these two were mana zombies.
Lu Chen immediately raised his hand to send out an ice spear, while Su Yan yelled out loud as he dashed forward.
Bang! Bang! The attacks clashed with each other, and the small boy opened his mouth to breathe fire onto Su Yan who punched the little kid decisively without any mercy.
The kid fell back but quickly got up. His entire body now swirled in flames as if he was on fire and started shooting out balls of flames at Su Yan.
Su Yan’s face immediately changed. The kid in front of him was much stronger than any zombie he had previously fought.
He tried his best to dodge the fireballs coming at him, but it was only inevitable that a few falls on him, and the places where he got hit, the cloth on his body, and the skin underneath it were instantly burnt to a crisp.
Lu Chen also couldn’t help him as the other little girl barraged him with a volley of ice spears.
His single ice spear attack was nothing in comparison to that attack and he shrieked in pain, dancing around, trying to avoid getting impaled by the sharp icicles raining down on him.
Lu Chen tried to erect a sort of ice barrier but he was not able to concentrate or focus even for a second to do so.
Su Yan, on the other end, gritted his teeth, bearing the pain, but his body wobbled, his movement speed slowed down, and now more and more fireballs were hitting him.
The two of them were completely overwhelmed when suddenly blood splattered from the thin leg of the little boy who was slowly succeeding at roasting Su Yan alive.
