After the herd thinned out, only five zombies were left standing, but they seemed a lot stronger than normal mana zombies.
To make matters worse, Qin Hua could also see three green-skinned creatures sneaking towards her. They didn’t approach her brazenly like the zombies.
These hid behind the trees and watched her as if they were waiting for her and the zombies to start fighting. They were definitely far more intelligent and coordinated.
[What the heck are these things?] Qin Hua panted. She didn’t have too much time to think. One of the zombies lobed a big ball of fire her way.
It was too close and too big for her to dodge, but her body responded instinctively and she rolled over on the ground, quickly getting out of the way and leaping back onto her feet again.
And just as she did, only narrowly missing from getting scorched and roasted, a heavy blow landed on her body, sending her back, crashing on the barricaded wall of the apartment.
Before she could recover from the attack, the zombie once again dashed forward with a frenzy as if it intended to tear her apart, but this time she reacted fast and dove into a nearby shadow, managing to gain her upper hand.
The zombie let out a loud roar and started pummeling the apartment complex in anger. It had five thick hands, muscles bulging and blood vessels popping and it banged the wall with all five hands.
Within seconds, the parts of the wall without the metal reinforcement couldn’t put up with its force and began to crack.
[Fuck!] Qin Hua panted, her eyes darting from left to right, her gaze coldly inspecting all her enemies.
<Ding. Mana Zombie; Level 25>
<Ding. Mana Zombie; Level 19>
<Ding. Mana Zombie; Level 20>
<Ding. Mana Zombie; Level 17>
<Ding. Mana Zombie; Level 11>
[How are they so strong?] Qin Hua gnashed her teeth. She now understood how one single blow was enough to fling her huge body back.
She tried to inspect the green-skinned creatures next whom she had also seen around but weirdly they were missing.
Before she could search for them more thoroughly, a loud crack sounded, bringing her focus back to the zombies.
The apartment walls were crumbling and if she didn’t do anything, everyone inside, including Lu Chen and Su Yan would soon be in danger.
Qin Hua decided to ignore the strange creatures for now and she leaped out of the shadow letting out a loud growl, once again diverting the attention of the zombies back to herself rather than on the building.
All five zombies immediately rushed towards her, one already beginning to shoot out fireballs from its mouth.
Qin Hua did not wait around for them to get to her. She dove into the shadows, popping out and showing her presence every other second, but kept moving further and further away from the building.
She was taking the fight elsewhere in order to not risk damaging the building and once she was far enough, she stopped moving, turning her body around to face the zombies.
Because of all the loud growling noises, another couple of weaklings had joined the fray and there were now 10 zombies coming at her.
Qin Hua panted. She was completely surrounded and outnumbered but her sharp animal eyes gazed at the enemies in front of her with confidence. She knew exactly what to do.
Before anyone could make a move, she summoned the system interface to put every single one of the stat points she had gained from recent level-ups in her mana attribute and used 5 out of her 8 remaining skill points to purchase [Chaos ball].
[Chaos ball] – Consumes 30 mana; Deals 20% of magic attack power damage; Has a high chance to ricochet off the enemy and land on a nearby enemy dealing double the previous damage; Can be leveled up for upgrades.
It was the only AOE skill she had and though it was expensive, it was worth it, considering the situation she was in right now.
Qin Hua also noticed that there were other additions to her shop menu, but now was not the time to leisurely shop around. She didn’t have that luxury.
In the fraction of a second she had, she made this decision and was determined to see it through to the end.
[Chaos Ball] She muttered under her breath, thick black fumes immediately materializing in front of her. They soon coagulated together becoming a small ball and shot forward in the direction she willed.
Qin Hua sent the black ball of turbulent energy towards the strongest of the pack, the level 25 zombie, the one with the extra hands and she herself leaped forward snapping her canines at the weakest.
She plunged her canines into the zombie tearing its throat and chest apart, while a deafening roar reverberated from nearby as if something was screaming from intense pain.
Qin Hua glanced in that direction from the corner of her eyes and froze for a moment after seeing the huge gaping hole on the zombie’s body.
[So powerful!] She licked her lips, diving into a shadow nearby.
But neither the zombie nor the chaotic ball of energy was done just yet.
Even with a hole in the stomach, bloody guts falling out of it, the big zombie dashed towards her, or at least the shadow she had disappeared into.
And the black ball of energy as well swirled as if it was alive and bounced off to another zombie flailing its limbs nearby.
This time the ball was slightly bigger and it hit the zombie in between its chest and shoulders, almost tearing its upper body apart.
Qin Hua grinned. Now she was no longer at a disadvantage.
Her mana was empty and her stamina was almost empty, but she knew that she had a fighting chance and that made her growl in excitement.
She didn’t know how long the chaos ball was going to be bouncing back and forth, but this was a perfect distraction and she decided to use it to her advantage at least as long as it lasted.
