“Reva!!!” Damien felt his heart stop as he saw that white crack suddenly manifesting in thin air and swallowing Reva into it.
His hands were trembling as he stared at the endless ocean before him while the crack was nowhere to be seen.
Not just a few seconds ago, he was having a good time with her right after going through a lot. And now, this suddenly happened out of nowhere for no reason or for a reason he couldn’t make sense of.
He quickly thought to use his forbidden Shadows of Time ability to reverse time and prevent Reva from getting close to the barrier. But then he decided to first touch the barrier and see for himself before recklessly sacrificing too much of his soul essence.
And to his surprise, the moment his hand touched, a glimmering white light appeared in the form of a crack before he felt his body getting sucked into it, “What the!”
Damien felt as if he was traveling through some tight vacuum space before falling down through a dark space, but he stopped himself from hitting the ground by suspending himself in the air.
“Damien!”
Damien quickly straightened his body as he heard Reva’s voice and had a relieved expression upon sensing Reva running towards him, and he also quickly shot towards her, hugging her into his embrace.
“Reva! Jeez…I almost thought I lost you…” Damien said in a relieved tone as he kissed her cheek while Reva also hugged him tightly as she shook her head and said in a complicated tone, “You shouldn’t follow me like that…especially when we have no idea what this place is or if there are any dangers…”
“You can’t expect me to just not follow you when I see you disappear right in front of me. I know you would have done the same for me,” Damien said as he felt glad that nothing bad happened to her, unlike his worst fears.
Still, hearing her mention about this place, Damien quickly spread his senses and sensed that he was standing in some empty dark space. There was absolutely nothing around him! It was completely pitch black without any people or objects around him.
There wasn’t even any ground beneath his feet, and he felt like he was standing in thin air. If he didn’t have the power of flight, he would have continued to fall through this empty dark space for god knows how long.
“What is this place…” Damien mumbled though he wasn’t panicking, surprisingly. He wondered if it was because of mastering the ice elemental seed, keeping his mind in a calm and steady-state.
Reva slowly let go of him as she closed her eyes to scan her surroundings. Even though her expression was calm, inwardly, she was feeling worried about what this place was, “I can’t sense anything. It is as if we are in—”
“Space?” Damien mumbled, wondering who or what brought them here.
But right when the two were busy guessing where they were and ways to get out, their surroundings suddenly changed.
Damien saw clear blue skies above him, his feet hovering high up in the clean air, with Reva also standing in the air beside him.
And as the two looked down with a puzzled and surprised look, they were even more baffled to see what was below them.
In fact, Damien was the most surprised as he saw large towering buildings and skyscrapers with several large platform structures located throughout the land, which seemed to be like a large city that seemed to span for countless miles.
Reva had a blinking expression since this was the first time she was looking at a place that looked so different and mysterious compared to the ones she knew. In fact, she was hardly able to make sense of most of the things she was seeing.
Whereas Damien was shocked as well but for quite the opposite reason since some of the structures were familiar to him, especially when it had a faint similarity to the world in his past life, due to how modern everything looked.
But the main difference was that the huge city he was looking down at seemed very futuristic compared to the world in his past life.
He could also see thousands of people walking through this city, especially through the large circular platform structures, which seemed like teleportation portals and certain futuristic-looking vehicles and even ethereal beasts flying through the air. Heck, the two could even see a large ferocious-looking red dragon without any wings flying over to the city from the horizon from afar!
And atop the dragon were seated a few people where the one sitting in the front was a man dressed in an elegant silk suit with two beautiful women standing behind him and massaging his shoulders.
Damien guessed that this guy must be some sort of big shot, especially after seeing the lofty look on his face as he looked down at the city and its people.
But all this was the least of his concern as he couldn’t make sense of what was going on. He couldn’t recognize the city or its people, yet at the same time, how could the world look so modern? There was no way the world he was looking at was some future version of Earth? Or could it be just an alien planet with an advanced civilization?
And most of all, why was he seeing all this? Who was showing this to him?
The largest building in this city was the large black one with a spiral shape, and Damien could see a lot of people with head-to-toe armor uniform standing around the building with a small stick behind their backs which he had no idea if they were weapons or something.
However, he couldn’t spot any guns or weapons that remotely looked similar to it, making him feel confused that this was probably some other world which he had no clue of. If it was Earth, surely they would have guns if humanity advanced to this point.
Reva was staring down while curiously registering every single detail in her mind silently and was just too surprised to even say anything. However, before the two could voice out their doubts, their surroundings again changed!
