Leon opened his eyes with a loud grunt and held his head in his hands to subdue the headache.
He got off the bed and grabbed his phone to see the time, and to his surprise, only three hours had passed since he fell asleep.
“Only three hours have passed?” he wondered in confusion. “I feel like I have had a nice and long sleep— what the fuck!”
Leon checked the date and found out he was asleep for three whole days and nights.
“How in the hell did I not wake up? Where is my alarm—” Leon stepped his foot on something, and upon looking down, he found his broken alarm clock.
“Right… I broke it…”
Leon used to set the alarm on his phone, but he smashed his phone on the first day of setting the alarm because the alarm wasn’t going off. From then onwards, he started using the alarm clock, and that was the 12th alarm clock he had broken in the past month.
After Leon and Layla went back to their old home, Leon started having nasty thoughts about hurting Layla.
He had dreams that were too real for him, and he couldn’t help but fear whenever he was near Layla. He was afraid to hurt her.
The monster that awakened inside Leon that night never went back to sleep. It wanted bloodbath, and Leon couldn’t control himself from doing so.
He knew that if he stayed with Layla, then he would end up hurting her. And that was the last thing he wanted to do.
So, he chose to move out of the house and live in a sloppy apartment, where the landlord didn’t charge money as rent, but he charged random things.
Just two days ago, Leon paid his rent with a grain of salt.
After Leon moved out, he called Layla on the phone three times a day—in the morning, noon/evening, and night. He also visited her three times a week and stayed weekends at his old home with Layla. He spent half of his time with Layla.
Leon was aware that Layla needed him, and Layla understood Leon’s circumstances. Layla was aware that Leon was trying his best to be normal—only for Layla, and Layla accepted that side of Leon, just like how Leon accepted Layla.
Layla wanted to do ‘that’ with Leon again, but she wanted their relationship to be normal. However, she knew that there was no going back after what they did that night.
Leon, on the other hand, had no problem doing it. He told himself that ‘If Layla wants to do it, then I will do it.’
It wasn’t as though he didn’t enjoy that night, but it was both Layla and Leon’s first time, not to mention neither of them had any experience.
The following week, Leon found out everything about the corrupt people who were the reason for turning his and Layla’s life into hell.
The judge who gave his and Layla’s custody to Ryan, even after knowing his past.
The watchman who let the terrorist into the hotel for the terrorist attack planned by the president to kill his wife.
The police officer who brought Leon back to Ryan’s house when he once managed to escape. When Leon escaped, he went straight to the police officer who was patrolling on the street, hoping he would save them. But instead, the policeman took Leon on a car ride, saying they were going to arrest Ryan, and asked him to show the address. When they reached Ryan’s apartment, the policeman gave Leon back to Ryan and took some money in return.
Then, another officer who was scheduled to check up on Layla and Leon every month to make sure Ryan was taking proper care of them. However, the officer was a drug addict, so he filled the report as green every time and took drugs from Ryan in return.
Leon had yet to find all those people.
The president was an easy target because everyone knew where he lived, and it was simple to track him down.
‘Do I smell?’ Leon sniffed himself to make sure he wasn’t stinking. He then grabbed his bag and left the apartment building to go to college.
It was Leon’s first time going to college, or any school, after ten years.
After Layla had called the home service, the government sent some men to confirm their identity and gave them access to their bank accounts and their parent’s legacy.
That house was officially under Leon and Layla’s name, and as his father was a civil servant, they had no need to pay the mundane bills.
They also recommended Leon and Layla to enroll in school, but Layla refused. Leon, however, wanted to do something else.
He took the entrance exam for the best and highest education college and scored the top without studying a single question.
He also gained a one-year scholarship where the college was going to pay for his transportation bill, tuition fees, book bills, cafeteria bills, and other miscellaneous things.
Leon had no interest in going to college. He simply wanted to try out the exam. But, Layla insisted Leon to attend the college for her and his own sake.
Leon thought there was no pain in trying out. Who knows, he might meet his new prey there?
Leon got on his train, but it was fully packed as it was rush hour for all the school and office workers.
After standing for five minutes, Leon finally managed to get his hand on an empty seat. However, just a while after he sat on the seat, an old lady approached him and asked Leon to stand up.
Leon, of course, denied and asked the old lady to find some other seat.
However, the old lady got furious and started yelling at Leon. Leon frowned his face and stared at the old lady with a murderous glare in his eyes.
