However, his thoughts disappeared the moment the cake entered his mouth.
This taste. . .
It was so delicious!
He looked up a little surprisedly and his gaze met with her anticipating and eager expression. He smiled softly and nodded, “It’s very good.”
A bright smile crept up her face and she handed the plate over to him so he could eat himself. She looked to the side so she didn’t notice the disappointment on his face when he held the plate and fork himself.
“Do you want some?” He asked softly.
An Luxia waved it off, “It’s okay. I eat it often whenever I go to my parent’s shop. Have you ever eaten the cake from the Haotian Bakery? That’s my parents’ bakery. It’s super good!”
Mo Han shook his head.
“Ah, that’s a shame. We should go eat it together sometime.” She smiled and moved closer to him, looking up at his face.
Mo Han knew the foundation of her “love” towards him was because of his appearance, but he didn’t mind much. Sometime soon in the future, it would be more than that.
He smiled a little crookedly because he didn’t smile often, “Okay. . . But I still like the cake you make for me the most.”
An Luxia’s eyes widened slightly as she felt something hit her chest. Is she in a romance novel?! Handsome male lead falls in love with her at first sight! Oh, this could be a novel!
She pressed her lips together as she felt her heartbeat speed up and she quickly looked away.
But then, he raised his arm up and used one finger to lift her chin up, “From now on, you can only bake that cake for me, okay?”
Without even hesitating, An Luxia nodded her head quickly like a tiny chick, “Yes, yes!”
He smiled before taking the plate he had placed onto the table and handing it back to An Luxia, opening his mouth, “Ah!”
An Luxia felt her heartbeat continue to speed up but she didn’t care much about it now as she cut the cake with the fork and lifted it up to his mouth.
—
Right after eating the cake, it was dinnertime, and the two of them made their way over to the dining room, which was also extremely large, especially for only one person. . . Well, now it was too.
They sat down and the workers brought over several plates, setting it onto the middle of the table. The table was quite small, which looked a little mismatched inside the large room, but it was helpful when they were sharing the food.
An Luxia ate happily, herself a little more confident that she had made the right decision to get married to Mo Han. . . even if the origin was to escape the marriage with Lu Xiamo.
As she ate, she didn’t notice that Mo Han had stopped and he was staring at her. . . her hand to be exact.
“That ring. . .”
An Luxia looked up, her mouth filled with food, “What?”
Mo Han grinned at her “kind of dumb but cute” appearance and pointed at her ring finger, “That ring. Where did you get it from?”
An Luxia’s eyes widened slightly and she thought that maybe he had mistaken, “Um. . . this ring. I bought it myself haha!”
Mo Han frowned slightly and raised one eyebrow, “You can tell me the truth. I’m just curious.”
“Really?” An Luxia asked cautiously, placing her other hand over the ring protectively.
Mo Han nodded his head and smiled as a sign of reassurance.
An Luxia pursed her lips out and thought for a few more seconds before she smiled sweetly and looked down at the ring, brushing it gently with her finger, “This ring. . .”
She looked up, “You promise you won’t be jealous?”
Mo Han nodded. Of course he wouldn’t be jealous! Why would he be jealous? That ring. . . it was his!
An Luxia narrowed her eyes a little suspiciously as she looked back down at the ring, “This ring. . . My first love gave it to me!”
A sweet and gentle smile appeared on her face, and it seemed like she was remembering something very pleasant and beautiful as she looked at the ring as if it was her life.
Then, realizing what situation she was in, she quickly looked up again, expecting to see Mo Han angry or unhappy. However, to her surprise, he did not show any of those emotions.
Instead. . . he was smiling?
An Luxia’s mouth fell open in surprise. Why was he smiling? He was happy that he wasn’t her first love. . . She had thought that he was a very overbearing and domineering person.
“Um. . . Well, we haven’t been in contact for many years now. It was just a childhood love, haha.” She smiled awkwardly and pulled her hand back under the table, continuing to eat.
When she looked up again, Mo Han was still smiling.
“Um. . . you are happy about that?”
Mo Han didn’t seem to hear her as he continued to smile blankly, staring at the edge of the table where An Luxia’s hand previously was.
“Mo Han?”
He finally broke out of his stupor as he looked up, blinking a little confusedly, “Oh, yeah! Um. . . Your first love, right? Who is that?”
Realizing that he wasn’t mad and almost seemed to be interested, An Luxia was both confused and scared.
“Just some boy. . . Mo Han, you’re really not mad?”
Mo Han picked up his fork and continued to eat, “Why would I be mad? I’m not mad.”
To be honest, An Luxia was a little. . . just a little upset that Mo Han did not get mad or jealous even the slightest about hearing that she had a first love, and was still wearing the ring her first love gave her.
They were married now! Shouldn’t he at least be a little jealous?
An Luxia pursed her lips out and decided to push it even further just to make him jealous! Hmph!
“My first love,” she smiled sweetly as she held the ring up, looking at it preciously, “He is the best person in the world! He is handsome, smart, kind, gentle, and everything I like! It is too bad that we aren’t together now. I would totally be with him if I knew where he was.”
She sighed and pressed her hand up to her chest, slowly peeking up to see if Mo Han’s reaction had changed. If he still wasn’t jealous, then she did not know what to think! Did he find pleasure in having his woman like someone else? That was definitely not normal. . . especially for the King of the underworld.
However. . . When An Luxia looked up, she saw that:
Mo Han’s smile had become even larger.
