. The rest of the space octopus that had been in the shaft were stirring. Cole reckoned that the large tentacle that had chased after him, belonged to a much bigger version of these freaks now swimming around his vision.
Cole would rather not put this off any longer. As far as his abilities were concerned, this was the only guarantee he had of having skills or techniques to deal with his enemy and this dungeon. Learning techniques would take way too much time, and right now, that sort of time was something only strength could gain for him in here. His weapons were the only way to get that power, hopefully enough to put an end to that Azrael, or stop him long enough for Cole to know exactly what he was dealing with. 𝑖𝘦.𝑐ℴ𝘮
[Seraphim: Satellite Mode]
The black and white angel came out of Cole’s chest in a shower of light and began to hover around his body. Cole paid it a little attention before another prompt popped up in his face.
[Boon: Solar System Active!]
[Laser Rain]
The tiny angel no more than 7 inches tall took off like a bullet. Opening fire as it spun around Cole’s body, firing piercing golden hot beams of light through the monsters as they rushed forwards to Cole.
The [Seraphim] was an amazing addition to Cole’s arsenal, but it’s rate of fire could not keep up with the amount of monsters heading for him. It could only buy Cole a few moments at most, but by this point, a few moments was all he needed.
[You Have Attached Weapon Methuselah To The Animus Stat Weapon’s Node! And Have Unlocked The Boon: Life Seed]
[Boon: : Every time you use Methuselah and loose energy, blood, sweat etc. what is lost has a 2% chance to becoming a life seed. A seed capable of growing into the life tree. A tree with powerful regenerative qualities but grows by absorbing the souls of the ones who eat it’s fruit and using it to fuel the growth of it’s planter. +1 level to any skill per 5 souls]
This was the lousiest skill he’s gotten, a 2% chance. That meant he’d have to bleed and sweat a lot to even have a chance to create that life seed, and he also has to be using his spear while he does it. But if course the gains though are incredibly massive. Cole was not sure how many fruits, this life tree produces, but it’s above around 20 or 30 or even just 15, that’s three levels to any skill of his choice and an increase in his stats.
This is a powerful boon, it had absolutely no combat applications, but it gave him permanent boosts, that would last an eternity, making him much more stronger. Cole knew he had just gained a huge advantage, but there was no time observing and admiring that fact, he still had monsters to take care of.
Cole swept Methuselah out in an arc, infusing the spear with energy as it left a green trail, before sweeping a group of spatopus to the side, only for the Seraphim to concentrate fire on them, turning them all into ruined slag and burnt flesh.
Cole used [Gravity Rings] using all three rings to create a concentric platform that he then built up on, pushing power from one to the next before using it to blast himself upwards.
*Boom!*
There was a sonic boom, as Cole broke the sound barrier, and in such a limited space the sounds were even more enhanced. But as Cole moved higher he went faster and faster as Kinetic built on Cole’s momentum, building up more power the faster he moved and feeding it back into his momentum, going faster and faster as Cole pointed his spear upwards his form blasting through looking like an arrow made of air.
Every thing he passed was shredded to pieces, soon enough even the shaft was not strong enough to withstand Cole in perpetual motion, his form accelerating until he was just a blitz of light moving past. And it would have continued in that manner of a tentacle the size of a fuel truck did not just smashed through the shaft and into Cole, bringing all of that momentum to a halt.
*BOOM!*
The release of kinetic energy from the halted momentum was enough to blast the tentacles to pieces, even more so the entire shaft and the floor that Cole had been stopped was completely decimated. Cole was not spared either as his body flew through the air to smash through a few skyscrapers before landing in a building that used to be a school, most of not all of his bones broken.
*SCREEEEEECH!!!*
A defeating scream filled the air, adding more discomfort to Cole who was trying not to puke up his shredded organs. How the hell was he even still in one piece was a mystery to him, well mostly in one piece.
“Oww!”
Cole could hear Lyren yelping and whining in his head. The armor had definitely taken a lot of damage, which in turn meant the chaos pup was in a lot of pain. Cole cursed, he felt stupid, and with good reason, he should never have been moving that fast. The moment he noticed the Kinetic stat feeding off the motion and feeding it back to him increasing his speed and feeding even more off that, he should have tried to stop but he-
“The first thing I’m sure you….well maybe not you, but the rest of humanity would be finding out about the Kinetic stat is that. Just because you can theoretically keep moving, going faster and faster, doesn’t mean you should.
There are limits to speed as I’m sure you would have come to understand. There’s the bodies limit, the air’s limit, space’s limit and finally reality’s limit. You, barely broke through to the air’s limit and you’re this fucked….the stat-”
“Are you here to kill me or are you just going to give me a lecture. Because if it’s a lecture can you just get on with the killing, I’m in a lot of pain and I’m not in any particular mood to listen to you blab. Though thanks for the info.”
Azrael blinked at bit, as if wondering why he had even been talking to Cole in the first place.
“Well that’s fair, good bye Mr. Cole. It was fun while it lasted.”
