Lu Xun was still discussing a few matters regarding the program with Huo Yun Chen when he saw Song Xing Xing. For a few seconds, he was startled until he recalled that she would start working for the studio. As he recalled her request to keep her identity a secret from the others, Lu Xun pretended that he did not know the person and continued to chat with the singer.
“President Lu, Mister Huo.” Producer Ming greeted when he saw the two men entered the post-production room.
“Producer Ming,” Lu Xun nodded. “I was taking Mister Huo to look around our studio.”
Producer Ming looked around the room and coughed. “There wasn’t a lot of things to look at here. We have just received the card from the production and are now waiting for the file transfer to complete. Only then can we start working on the episode.”
Huo Yun Chen smiled. He had been in the entertainment industry for a while and could understand a little bit about what the post-production team would do.
At this time, his ears caught the sound of familiar music. Huo Yun Chen followed the sound and his gaze halted at the phone that one of the girls was holding. “Are you playing Legends of the Sky?”
Seeing that her idol was looking at her, Liu Yu Sheng began to panic. It took her a few seconds to confirm that the man was indeed looking at her. Only then did she answered. “Y-yes. But I only installed the game yesterday.”
There was a teasing smile on Huo Yun Chen’s face. “Did you install the game because of me?”
Liu Yu Sheng started to nod her head frantically.
“Then, you need to work hard and level up quickly. Maybe later, we can go together and kill some boss together.”
The girl heard her idol’s encouragement and quickly became excited. Liu Yu Sheng glanced at Song Xing Xing and recalled that she played the game as well. She was about to mention this matter to her idol but noticed that her friend had signaled her not to say a word.
Producer Ming then took the two men to look around the room and introduced everyone. After spending around five minutes in the room, the two men left and Lu Xun led his guest for a tour elsewhere.
The room turned quiet again and Song Xing Xing slumped in her seat. It was still strange to think that her gaming friend is that celebrity Huo Yun Chen.
“Why don’t you want me to tell Huo Yun Chen that you’re playing that game too?” Liu Yu Sheng poked at Song Xing Xing’s arms and whispered. “Perhaps the two of you have an intersection and he would know you.”
Song Xing Xing waved her hand. “I’ve been playing the game from the beginning, but my level is not as high as his. I’m just embarrassed to say anything.”
Just now, Song Xing Xing had logged in to her secondary account. Her character level was too low as compared to her main account. Liu Yu Sheng had only seen her using her secondary account and she believed that her friend would not suspect anything.
To Song Xing Xing, being friends with Huo Yun Chen in a virtual world was enough. Their relationship will continue as it is. She did not think that there was a need for her to introduce herself as ‘Not Your Little Star’ to him.
After a while, Xie Xun returned to the room and passed them another two cards. One card was labeled with Huo Yun Chen’s name and the other was Mu Xiao Xiao’s.
“Are you heading home?” Song Xing Xing asked as she retrieved the cards from Xie Xun.
“Mmm… Our job is done here. The others were packing and it will be done soon.”
Song Xing Xing heard his words and heaved a long sigh. She waved goodbye to the man and returned to transfer the footage to another computer. Everyone busied themselves with their own activity as they waited for the footage.
They were still waiting for the file transfer when Lu Xun returned to the room. The staff turned to him and wondered if the man was going to announce anything.
“Are you still waiting for the file transfer?”
The staff started to look at each other, wondering who was the president talking to. Seeing that no one had answered, Producer Ming stood up and explained, “It will take a while before the transfer can be completed.”
“Then, you guys are going to stay the night and work?”
Producer Ming flashed an awkward smile. “President Lu, it is usually like this. The shooting will go on in the morning and the post-production team can only start when we received the cards.”
Lu Xun nodded upon hearing his words. He glanced at his wristwatch and said, “Since it will be a while before you can start working, why don’t you guys come with me for dinner. It will be my treat.”
Everyone started to look at each other in disbelief. Everyone had thought that perhaps they have misheard their boss’s words.
It was their first day for everyone to work at the studio. No. They haven’t actually started to work yet, but their big boss wanted to treat them to a meal! How generous!
Everyone started to tidy up their desk a little bit and picked up their belongings. Anyway, it will be a while before they can start to work. It would be best if they had an early dinner.
The group shared their ride and headed towards the address that their boss had sent them. Seeing that their boss had brought them to a fancy restaurant, everyone had the urge to cry and kiss their boss. This was the kind of restaurant that they would never dare to step their foot into.
Once they appeared at the door, the waitress welcomed them politely. Even though most of them were dressed in jeans and a t-shirt, the waitress did not show any hint of displeasure on her face. The group was ushered towards a private room that President Lu had booked a while ago.
Initially, everyone had thought the production team would be joining them for the meal just like the last time. When they entered the room, there was only one large round banquet table at the center. Special Assistant Bei Yuan was waiting for them inside and immediately welcomed everyone inside.
“President Lu went to answer a call. Everyone, have a seat first,” Bei Yuan said. He looked at the team and was startled when he saw Song Xing Xing among the others.
“Special Assistant Bei Yuan, the others… the production team are not going to join us?” Producer Ming asked.
“No. President Lu said it would be hard for everyone to work the night shift.” Bei Yuan smiled. “You can think of this as his way to encourage his staff to work hard.”
Everyone listened to the assistant’s words and began to laugh and feel more at ease.
